Synthetic seeds and their role in agriculture: status and progress in sub-Saharan Africa

Dicot seeds are commonly characterised by the rapid loss of moisture, vigour and longevity that cause adverse physiological biochemical effects. Such changes reduce seed viability, germinability seedling in most agronomic legume crops. Thus, this paper evaluates potential role synthetic production as an avenue to achieve genetic variability, avert recalcitrance fleet viability challenges experienced recalcitrant species. Synthetic seeds, also known synseeds or artificial produced via somatic embryogenesis crucial for successful establishment plants, serve important determinant plant productivity, especially crops such soybean. The use could a fundamental ensuring cheap supply new resources propagules both breeders farmers.
